Recycled plastic bottle!

Hello!
Yes I have been lazy but not any more!
As soon I do something new or different and post it, I will be posting the how to also!
In the ecocraft blog I just post the picture of this recycled plastic bottle, isn't the soda type is the type were usually vitamins pills come in it.  In my case is I am using eco friendly laundry sheets. SO I was looking how to use it when finish and voila! Browsing through the web I saw some Halloween art, they have been using vitamins bottles; so I decide to use this technique to make my batteries recycling bin!
First look for a plastic bottle not soda type, usually white more sturdy, like vitamins pills, laundry sheet etc.
Materials:
Empty plastic bottle
Glue gun
Sandpaper
Sponge
Acrylic paints in the color of preference.
Some embellishment (not necessary)

I forgot to take the picture but the first thing that must be done is to try to peel off the labels  if it to sticky it can be left there.
1.With a fine sandpaper sand the plastic bottle, I prefer to sand it in different direction, this will help that paint to stick better and will have a more texture finish.

2. After you have sand well the plastic bottle, write, draw or doodle the design you would like in the bottle or you can do it in transfer paper and the transfer it to the bottle.  I prefer to write the word batteries directly in the bottle with a pencil and then I use a marker so I could see them better.

3. Then using the glue gun you pour it over the design that have been choose. In this case was the word batteries, it isn't necessary to do it so accurately.  Let it cool down.

4. Now if its desire it can be glue some embellishment; in this bottle I glue some leftover gears from another Steam-punk project.  Also the cat, key and the coffee top are polymer clay that went wrong it didn't cook okey.

5.  When everything is glue, proceed to paint with acrylic paint, in this case I use black gesso.

6.  When is completely dry, applied a chalk paint, here was use a black chalk paint it will give it a matte finish.  Cover everything including the embellishment is used.

7.  Then use color that you like.  In this case I use orange, olive, green; to give it a more realistic look I use a sponge and sponge the paint.

8.  When it is dry, then you can paint the embellishment. I used acrylic paint.
9.  I use buffering silver and gold paste to give the bin a old metallic rusty look.

I decide to apply this leftover flower and use an brad.

The bee is from another leftover project.

I also added a little chain that I found around my stuff.

Hope you have like it any question please be free to e mail me!
Ciao!
